Exploring New Zealand:
Auckland, Karangahake Gorge, Mount Maunganui, Rotorua

I fly from Queensland to Auckland on New Year's Day to start a second group trip the following morning. After a brief stop with a view of the city, we're off to Karangahake Gorge to hike and swim and walk through a kilometer-long, inactive railroad tunnel. We then continue on to Tauranga to climb up Mount Maunganui and enjoy the views over the Bay of Plenty. We end our day with our arrival at our hotel in geothermally active Rotorua.
