We begin the morning with a camel ride from our auberge in Zagora. We then stock up on supplies and drive far south to reach the edge of the Sahara desert where we'll be camping in the dunes. Along the way, we deal with engine trouble, have lunch at an oasis in the desert and stop at a well to get more water. After a lovely night sleeping under the stars, we begin the day long drive back across the High Atlas mountains to return to Marrakech, for a time following the course of the "Great African Run" or Budapest-Bamako road rally course.
